How do I set up an account with Music Library Service Company?
Please complete our online Library Profile Form under New Customers on our website. If you choose not to use our online ordering system, your account will be established using the information provided on your first order.

Ordering
Can you provide a quote to help us generate a purchase order?
Yes! You may easily create a quote using our online ordering system. Simply fill a shopping cart with your selections. The  total of the order will appear with each selection made. Once you have entered all of the desired items, you may either print the contents of the cart, or export its contents to save to your computer.
If you would prefer to have us prepare the quote, please feel free to fax or email your list of selections.  Provide artist or composer, title, label name, and catalog number when available.

How can I submit my Purchase Order?
Our online ordering system provides an easy and convenient way for librarians and acquisitions staff to enter purchase order numbers. A PO number may be entered for the entire order, or for each line item. If the librarian is not responsible for assigning PO numbers, the order may be emailed to the acquisitions staff for assignment of PO numbers. Once the order is ready, simply proceed to the checkout screen and place the order.
You are also welcome to submit your Purchase Order in your format via mail, email, or fax.  Orders are also accepted over the phone at (800) 849-2323.   Our fax number is 910-762-8701.

I cannot locate the item I am looking for in your catalog. Can you get it for me?
If you are not able to find a title in our online catalog, we will be glad to perform a special search for the item based on title, publisher, or other information provided.

Will you expedite my order?
We will gladly accommodate rush orders as needed.  Please alert us when an order is needed on a rush basis, and specify the date by which you would like the order to arrive.

How do I use your website to find the CD I want?
Use the Online Ordering link to access our database. You may then search by catalog number, composer/artist, title, or label name. You will also have the option of browsing by genre and label name. Also available on the website are lists of Billboard titles organized by genre and date, lists of award winning titles, and lists of newly released titles.

What is your return policy?
We will gladly accept the return of merchandise ordered from MLSC. Please call our customer service department at (800) 849-2323, or send an email to info@mlscmusic.com, and let us know the number of the invoice on which the merchandise was received, and the item’s catalog code, if available. Once the item is returned, we will issue a credit memo, or you may line it off of your invoice.

How will I know if something I’ve ordered has been cancelled or is on backorder?
A typical first shipment will contain about 80% of your order.Items not included in the first shipment may be assumed to be on backorder, and will be shipped as soon as they become available. We will send a pink cancellation slip for any items that are not available.

How are your items priced?
We offer wholesale pricing, which will typically result in a price that is 20-25% less than retail.

Billing
Will you accept a purchase order and bill our library?
Always.  Each  shipment includes an invoice that showing your purchase order numbers and a complete listing of the items enclosed.  Many of our customers are pleased to discover that the items in each shipment are  packed  in the same order in which they appear on the invoice.

Do you accept Procurement Cards and/or Credit Cards?
Yes, we gladly accept your procurement cards, along with Visa and Master Card.

Can I pay online?
We are not currently accepting online payment. Please call us to pay your invoice by credit card.

Shipping

How will my order be shipped?
We ship most orders via UPS Ground. 

What are your shipping rates?
We follow UPS standard shipping rates which will vary by the volume of the shipment and the zip code to which the shipment is being delivered. The shipping charge will be included on your invoice.

Core Collections & Approval Plans

Do you offer approval plans or standing orders?
Yes, we are pleased to offer approval plans to meet your collection needs.  Approval plans may be established on many different parameters, including label new releases, series new releases, and Billboard Chart rankings. Core Rock/Pop Collection

We also offer the Basic Music Library collections in a variety of genres. Each collection includes grouping options for small, mid-size, and large libraries seeking to establish or enhance their music holdings.

Physical Processing

Do you provide physical processing?
MLSC is pleased to offer full processing. Our most frequently requested processing services include 3M security strips or overlays, case change-outs, and labeling. We find it to be most helpful when libraries send us a sample of how they would like their CDs to be processed, including preferred materials and label placement specifications. We will then provide a price quote based on the sample.

MARC Records

Do you provide MARC records?
MLSC provides MARC records through the OCLC Partners program. The Partners Program enables MLSC to use the OCLC Connexion database to identify a MARC record for each item a customer orders. The list of MARC records is then forwarded to OCLC, where a staff member verifies the validity of each record chosen, creates records where none existed, and ensures that the customer is not receiving a MARC record that already exists in their catalog.
